PTI BLOG HOP

Tonight is the Blog Hop over at Papertreyink, and the challenge this month was to use the colour yellow......seemed easy enough..and I had the perfect inspiration photo . Plus it is my first time participating and I'm pretty excited.

A few weeks a go I went to a bachelorette for my now sister in law. We wore those cheesy looking Mardi gras type necklaces, and had tons of fun. When I got home and took off my sweater, this is what I saw..........

Instead of being upset at my potentionaly ruined sweater, I immediately thought "Oh, how nice Lemon Tart and Berry Sorbet" And the inspiration for this card was born.

Realizing I had no patterned paper I really liked, I brought out Chocolate Remix, which is actually one of the very first PTI products I ever purchased . I coloured it in with my copics, and then went over random butterflies with my Atyou Spica glitter pen....MY FAVOURITE new purchase apart from my PTI goodies which should be here any day now. I coloured in one random butterfly in a berry sorbet-ish colour.
Not actually owning the butterfly kisses set yet, i created the cutout with the sheer flower that PTI carries, traced them on the backside of the paper.

Not liking to waste anything, I used the cut-out butterfly on the inside of the card

AND the finishing touch, a bit of ribbon sewing I first saw on Claire Brennan's blog...she is the QUEEN of ribbon, and does the most creative things with it I have ever seen. Check out her blog on my links (waltzing mouse) and her NEW AND AMAZING stamp line she just launched.

That's all, hope this posts properly, and hope everyone enjoys Blog Hop. See you in the forum.

  8. Well I have to admit that a color combo at the sight of a ruined sweater wouldn't be my first thought. Might be my second! :) You put a lot of work into this card, nice job.
