Wooden Thanks

Hello Blogland and hope your holidays were great!!

Ours were wonderful, except for the various flu's and bugs that kept circulating amongst the cousins (and inevitably ended up with me)

So starting to feel better and wanting to get back into the swing of things.

Got a card here that I made for my hubby's caretaker. He crafted a beautiful wooden gift for my daughter when she was born and I wanted to send him a special thank you card. I've had this wooden paper from Michaels and was glad for the chance to use it!

Cardstock is PTI's fine linen, and Enchanted evening. Mat stack 1 die cut and stamp set, stamps and sentiment are from SU's trendy tree's. Limitless layers die cut was used as well. the wood needs a really strong adhesive or it starts to curl so I'd recommend using scor-tape

thank!

engagement card

Hello!! seemed there was a abundance of events for us at the beginning of December, most of which we couldn't attend cause of the little one. But at least it was a great excuse to get crafty!

This was an engagement card for some friends of ours. I draped the frame image from Mat stack 1 collection-my FAV image in that set by far!- on smokey shadow cardstock in black. I also stamped it on a shimmer white mat stack, and again on some harvest gold. Cut out the yellow and placed it inside the frame. Made the mat stack hang from a little embossed swirly to match their invite. Tied some lemon tart satin around the bottom ..and done!

Mojo Monday - Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

Well it's sunday night so time for me to get under the wire with the Moxie fab Tuesday trigger!!
Also used Mojo's sketch 168, except I tirned the squares into circles.

Love the colours this week, and think it's funny Cath picked THE MOST expensive ring in the sundance catalogue (of course I had to go check that beauty out and it is WAY out of my league!!)

But I loved the white gold colour with the purple so here is my take on it

Base and focal points are a stardream paper cant remember the name of the colour it has been in my stamp room FOREVER!!

Layer is PTI Plum Pudding with SU's toile background stamped in Brilliance Platinum ink. Stamp is SU's Greeting Card Kids which I lightly coloured with my copics. Sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Christmas. Ribbon is Paper source. LIghter purple is Paper SOurce as well. Enjoy....

Shimmer shower

Hello everyone, we are battening down the hatches preparing for our first big winter storm. Perfect time to curl up in front of the computer with baby in one hand and some cocoa in the other!!

Made this shower card in colours to complement the invite. Its a 5X7 so I could fit that lovely frame inspired by Carly Robertson. In fact her card was the reason I ordered labels 9!! Lets ignore the fact that its crooked (never try to align things from behind!!) its handmade!
Put a faint stripe in my ribbon with a copic (BG000) and used exactly 5 of my paper flowers. I'll never deplete that stash if I tried !!

Love that shimmer !!!

Moxie fab dress form

Every once in a while a product comes along that you didn't realize you wanted/needed it till you saw it.
Thats how I feel about this dressform die-LOVE it!! If my stamp room was on fire it would be the first thing I grabbed on the way out!!

Made a card with this for my sister birthday and a fun colour combo of raspberry fizz and hawaian shores
Stamped a design from damask designs on the bottom in a pigment ink I picked up at Michaels for $1 !! Perfect match!!!
2 strips of score tape and some MS glitter, and a paper source ribbon that matches raspberry fizz. Die cut and stamped the dressform, and layered it on a shimmer white mat stack 1. Sentiment is communiqe curves sentiments.

This also works for the Moxie fab challenge all that glitters here

Die Storage

I got a few questions about my die storage from my craft room post here so I took a few more pictures to share.

These binders are the mini binder boxes from Taylored Expressions meant to hold unmounted stamps. You can find them here

I bought the panels from them as well. I then adhered adhesice magnets sheets to the panels. Taylored Expressions do sell magnetic sheets, but I got mine at Walmart (Elmers brand)

They hold my nesties and PTI dies beautifully. Even the border dies.
It's such a great system, as they take up such little space, are all together and can't fall out as the binders are enclosed.
Hope that helps !

another in bloom framed combo

I loved the set of thank you cards from the last post , and now that I have my long requested in bloom die I decided to make some more cards. Plus, there's been some talk on the PTI boards about Fine Linen and I wanted to challenge myself to use it.
Die cut and stamped 3 of the large flowers from in bloom onto pure poppy card stock. Shaded a but with a red copic marker and cut out the layers. Did some copic shading on the leaves too.Stamped the frame from Framed on Fine Linen. Stamped sentiment. Attached to Dark chocolate base.
Seriously, this card could not have been any easier!! I made 3 more like it this week!

Thank you set

Here is a set of thank you cards I made for the lovely ladies my hubby work with-they bought an adorable gift for the baby.

I cased Nicholes countdown post for framed where she did this with In Bloom. I already had the 3 flowers embossed and cut in my ready image box so the cards came together quickly- and happy that I'm using my odds and ends!

I am in sore need of a new heat gun though. Mine just blows all the embossing powder off the image. Cut the leaves freehand and sewed them on, used various thank you sentiments. All supplies are PTI.
