So you can guess from the title of the post, and hopefully the picture, where the inspiration for this card came from. I've always loved the book corduroy, there is a picture of me reading it in kindergarten.....my husband bought it for me as a valentines present when we were dating and I thought it the cutest gift ever.
I always liked how Lisa loved and wanted Corduroy even if though he was missing a button. This is a little card for my husband maybe as a valentine .
I crimped the "straps" with my paper crimper and slotted into a Martha Stewart scalloped circle punch. Because this is a special card I even used a hoarded rustic wood button.
For the 'fur' i used a couple of different widths of cardstock strips dipped in craft ink and then just dabbed and dragged onto the craft. I think SU has a sanded background stamp that might work better if I ever want to make this again.
I used different letters from Scattered Showers (various sentiments) to make the inside sentiment coloured with an SU marker...and the needle stamp from quilter sampler.
I love this book so much, we read it to my son every night before bed.....he's memorized it (he's 2) !! We'll be in the car and hear random snippets ot Corduroy that he is reciting to himself.
Hope you enjoy it, off to hop !!
