PTI Blog Hop

Inspired By.......

Hello and thanks for stopping by on the PTI Blog Hop. This months theme is getting inspired by the fabulous Design Team. While I'm super inspired by Niki's distressing, Dawn's colour combinations, Michelle's vintage touch and Debbie's colouring, I'm MOST inspired by Nichole. (and now thanks to the video I can pronounce her last name properly !!!)

I LOVED the technique she used with vellum here.

Since my release goodies arent here yet, I duplicated it as best i could with the medium flower from In Bloom. I stamped the flower in smokey shadow, and then coloured the middle a bit with a yellow chalk writer marker by Marvy uchida. I then sponged some fresh snow ink on the middle of the flower a bit like Nichole does in her post. I matted it on Kraft and then Lemon tart. Flower is a couple of punches and a sentiment from Start Prints. Lemon Tart Satin dots....quick and easy !
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop !

WaltzingMouse Blog Hop

Hello and thanks for stopping along on the WMS blog hop ! If you stumbled upon my blog, please make sure to start at the beginning (with a big mug of tea!) over at Claires blog http://waltzingmouse.blogspot.com/2010/02/welcome-to-our-first-blog-hop.html

Today's card started off with the beautiful Cross stamp from Celtic Heritage. I stamped it in Paris Dusk memento ink - LOVE that colour !! If anyone knows where I can find the perfect blue-purple paper to match that ink let me know!
I also love to stamp intricate images like this in memento so I can colour - I used BV00 and BV02 for colouring in the detail on the stamp. Made a little frame for the cross to pop out of (got that straight from Claire's bog) with stamps from Very Vintage labels #1, and used the same stamp set for the scrolly background. Tied some organza and satin ribbon behind the cross (I'm hoarding this ribbon like no tomorrow, you should have seen how long it took me to tie this bow as I cut the organza too short, but refused to cut another piece I was determined to make it work !!) Popped out an initial on the bottom..this is a baptism card.

As for the cross, I smooshed it in versamark and embossed it in SU iridescent ice embossing powder, then added a dollop of glitter with some Crystal Effects...LOVE the sparkle !!

Raspberry Fizz thank you

UGHH. I hate taking pictures late at night. Raspberry fizz ends up looking like…I don't even know what !!
So this cute little colour combo (I swear) of raspberry fizz and new leaf is inspired by Dawn mcvey….she can pull off bright colours like nobody's business (and photographs them much better than I can !!!) The layout of this card is from a great card Julia Aston made here
I was requested to make a bright and cheery thank you card for a coworkers sister as she helped plan a baby shower for her. I stamped polka dot basics II on New Leaf with new Leaf in, and the leaf from Turning a new leaf in New Leaf on Ripe Avocado bitty box paper….you cant really tell though!
I coloured my all time favourite stamp ever in raspberry fizz copic trio…and put two little clear rhinestones in the centre. Thank You from big and bold wishes heat embossed in clear on a label 3 nestie…new leaf satin ribbon and 3 raspberry jewels finish it off...

Turquoise and brown wedding

Hello blogland, hope everyone had a Happy Valentines day !

I spent mine at a wedding...and thankfully the couple did not go with a cliche pink and red scheme ! I made this wedding card based on their colours. It`s inspired by Maille Belles and the beautiful cards made with IN Bloom that she had in Stamp It Magazine.

I used Brilliance brown and SU Tempting Turquoise for the flowers, with some rhinestones in the centre.

I used an SU punch for the scallop edge, as well as for the Mr. & Mrs tag. It`s kinda hard to see in this pic but blow it up, I`m in love with that little tag punch !

Thanks!

Paint by number sketch

Hello, another quick post tonight for another PTI challenge at Nichole Heady's blog. She gave us the sketch, and we chose our colour palette based on our screen name.

I used In bloom patterned paper, along with the stamp set on the smokey shadow layer.

I used Star prints for the sentiment, and vintage cream saddle stitch ribbon.....I've been dying for the right project to use this !

I made a little embellishment ( I know, cheating!) with the SU boho blossoms punch and filigree brad - and I coloured the rhinestone brad in to match Scarlett Jewel

Have fun and good luck everyone !!

CPS sketch 153

Hello, this card is for the PTI sponsored week over at the Card Positioning Sketch blog.

I used some Dovecraft paper that I had been hoarding for a while..

Put some PTI vellum through my big shot with an SU Impression Folder. I used some Paper source fushia ribbon, and another SU product - Beautiful wings embosslits for the tiny butterfly. I use Mixed messages - FINALLY !- and found it fit perfectly in the SU jewelry tag punch.

PTI Anniversary Celebration x2

Wow. What a great image Alli Miles created! I wanted to be able to create cards with all the images, but i just didn't have the time tonight.

I created this card for a close friend for her birthday. Can you tell I'm dying for a copic airbrush system??? The sponging is much softer in person that it looks in the pic.

Melon Berry In Bloom paper, BB petal power in the next layer, with some scor tape and Martha Stewart glitter on the border. I coloured the sentiment with some copics, and adhered 3 aqua mist button. Hope you like it !

PTI Anniversary Celebration

Here with the first of a couple of cards celebrating the PTI 3rd anniversary.

This exercise was fun, however I am NOT a fan of digi images, I had to be REALLY careful or the ink smeared.

I used the cute teddy bear image from Alli Miles' blog. I had to use SU whisper white as it's the only thing that runs through my printer. The pp is from Cosmo Cricket. I used Crystal Effect for the balloon. A couple of Orange Zest buttons finish it off.
