PTI BLOG HOP Corduroy Card

So you can guess from the title of the post, and hopefully the picture, where the inspiration for this card came from. I've always loved the book corduroy, there is a picture of me reading it in kindergarten.....my husband bought it for me as a valentines present when we were dating and I thought it the cutest gift ever.

I always liked how Lisa loved and wanted Corduroy even if though he was missing a button. This is a little card for my husband maybe as a valentine .

I crimped the "straps" with my paper crimper and slotted into a Martha Stewart scalloped circle punch. Because this is a special card I even used a hoarded rustic wood button.

For the 'fur' i used a couple of different widths of cardstock strips dipped in craft ink and then just dabbed and dragged onto the craft. I think SU has a sanded background stamp that might work better if I ever want to make this again.

I used different letters from Scattered Showers (various sentiments) to make the inside sentiment coloured with an SU marker...and the needle stamp from quilter sampler.

I love this book so much, we read it to my son every night before bed.....he's memorized it (he's 2) !! We'll be in the car and hear random snippets ot Corduroy that he is reciting to himself.

Hope you enjoy it, off to hop !!

Macho...not really just slighy more mascline cards

I seriously depleted my stash of male birthday cards over the last little while and needed to rectify that…..so I pulled out some of my fav stamps (Waltzingmouse, PTI) to create a few. AND I really stuck to my " MAKE 2 OF A KIND" resolution. I'm trying to make 2 of each card. One to put in my husbands sell box at work, and one for me to keep at home in my stash. So I'm doubly proud of myself !

First card is made with SU papers (certainly celery and Bermuda Bay) cause I love the combo of green and turquoise. Kraft and brown are PTI. I used Waltzingmouse Off Beat backgrounds for my 2 back panels. Edged them in PTI tea dye duo. Then I punched a couple of starts (large star is stamped in PTI Star Prints) and adhered….and added one green dew drop. Happy birthday is an SU sentiment. I saw the layout and colours for this card on Splitcoast and really liked !

2nd card uses the most beautiful herringbone stamp from Little box Labels (also Waltzingmouse) and some SU papers as well. I LOVE this stamp, and the matching HUGE background strip….it reminds me of my grandpa's suits or hats..very elegantly old time masculine !! Claire designed the cutest insets in this stamp, perfect for adding buttons and bobs……So I added a corduroy button from SU and an eyelet (didn’t I tear my craft room apart looking for a large eyelet……..then remembered the bazillion little eyelet packages that came with my crop-a-dile and where still in the case !!) Cardstock (sage shadow), pattern paper (nouveau chic) and satin ribbon is SU.

Waltzingmouse Birdie

Loving my Waltzingmouse Stamps as always, Claire designs the most awesome stamp sets you have to check her out.
I used sewing box hugs to stamp the birdie a few times and paper peirce it. I used a bit of retired SU product on this card - the ribbon and patterned paper, as well as some paper source Chartreuse that matches the green ribbon quite nice....although it doesn't look like it in this pic !!
I stamped the flower in green and layered on top this really cute crocheted flowed my granma made, with a great ripe avocado button in the centre.
Thanks for stopping by today !

In Bloom lovelies

Heres a card and a card trio I made recently with in bloom.

This trio was made with one of the smaller flowers and polka dot parade pattern papers from PTI.

I stamped the flowers and coloured with coordinating copics...

Spring Moss grosgrain, punch is EK success damask border.

The pic was taken at one of the very succesful craft shows that I had this fall, a major reason fo so little posting! I brought mega mixed messages and the PTI anniversary set (everyday classics) with me and was able to personalize these (and all my blank cards) for anyone that like, it was a great selling feature !

Finally....an Update...Mojo120

Yes, I've been terrible blogger..but that hopefully will be rectified in the new year.
Creating cards is easy, but taking pictures, uploading them and trying to adjust colours....not soo easy.

I also am pretty much camera less....our camera broke so most pictures will be taken with my iPhone. I;m just going to need to learn to work with what I got !!!

Playing with Papertrey's Tiny tags a lot lately, it is THE cutest set ever made!!
Cardstock is Terracotta tile from PTI, image stamped on stampers select white. Coloured with my Copics. The images are so little and perfect that it doen't take long to colour it at all !
Bottom strip is some prism cadstock, can't quite remeber the names ! Patterned paper is My minds eye stomp and round collection. Some retired SU ribbon, and a few jewels finish it off (punch is Martha Stewart)
