PTI BLOG HOP

Tonight is the Blog Hop over at Papertreyink, and the challenge this month was to use the colour yellow......seemed easy enough..and I had the perfect inspiration photo . Plus it is my first time participating and I'm pretty excited.

A few weeks a go I went to a bachelorette for my now sister in law. We wore those cheesy looking Mardi gras type necklaces, and had tons of fun. When I got home and took off my sweater, this is what I saw..........

Instead of being upset at my potentionaly ruined sweater, I immediately thought "Oh, how nice Lemon Tart and Berry Sorbet" And the inspiration for this card was born.

Realizing I had no patterned paper I really liked, I brought out Chocolate Remix, which is actually one of the very first PTI products I ever purchased . I coloured it in with my copics, and then went over random butterflies with my Atyou Spica glitter pen....MY FAVOURITE new purchase apart from my PTI goodies which should be here any day now. I coloured in one random butterfly in a berry sorbet-ish colour.
Not actually owning the butterfly kisses set yet, i created the cutout with the sheer flower that PTI carries, traced them on the backside of the paper.

Not liking to waste anything, I used the cut-out butterfly on the inside of the card

AND the finishing touch, a bit of ribbon sewing I first saw on Claire Brennan's blog...she is the QUEEN of ribbon, and does the most creative things with it I have ever seen. Check out her blog on my links (waltzing mouse) and her NEW AND AMAZING stamp line she just launched.

That's all, hope this posts properly, and hope everyone enjoys Blog Hop. See you in the forum.

Wedding Cards

Hello Everyone. My brother in law got marreid on the weekend and we had a grand ol time...BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING !! I made a few cards for them...here they are.....

The first one uses and adorable bride stamp from Stamping Bella. I stamped it on some embossed Martha paper, and paper pieced it. All the shiny paper is Bazzil bling cardstock.I cut out some flourishes on my cuttle bug, added a prima, and some gorgeous garter ribbon also from Stamping Bella. I actually wasn't sure what to write, so Iput the sentiment on AFTER I took the pic !!

The next card is one using guidelines from PTI, on some of their beautiful vellum. I stamped it in memento and platinum brilliance ink. I highlighted the centres with stickles and black rinestones. I Used the insides of of the flourish from the above card, and stamped a sentiment from Wishing you (pti) on vellum.

Girly birthday cards

I needed to make a couple of lttle girl birthday cards, and I REALLY wanted to tray a scalloped circle card, even though it was on the smallish side....

I used the Sweet Pea Dress up plate from pink cat studios for this gorgeous card, I'm really happy how it turned out. All paper is PTI (lemon tart, black PP and white) Ink is Memento and PTI, used my scalloped circle nestabilites to cut the card and frame, PTI lemon tart ribbon, and I used bit's and pieces of different sentiments from PTI stamp sets to stamp the ribbon.
I SHOULD HAVE used palette noir to stamp the sentiment, I'm sure it would not have bleed so bad….but it's currently on loan so I'll need to re-stamp that sentiment….2 flower brads from my stash, frosted lace stickles and yellow dew drops embellish this card nicely……..

Here is a deceptively simple card I made usind Scenic Routes Charlotte Eastern Ave Floral AquaPaper. I LOVE this paper, ordered it in the cream version as well and I wanted it to be the main attraction. I stamped out the pink flower from PTI beautiful blooms, and coloured it in with my pebbles chalks- first time I’ve used them and I kind of like the soft variegated effect…hope you can see it in big format. Then I covered it in dimensional glaze, and topped the middle with an aqua mist button, tied with pink Martha Stewart bakers twine. A strip of vintage cream, and some sentiments from beautiful blooms finish it off. Oh, and behind the flower I used a flower punch with the reverse side to this paper....isn't it adorable !!

Male Cards

Why oh why do we always have trouble with Male Cards ??? We are scared to offend, intimidate, or overwhelm with prettiness...........male cards are always a challenge. This one is no different. In my effort to de-feminize male cards, I think I may have gone a bit "overboard" he he.

Now this can be a male card, or a congratulations for getting into the Navy. You decide.......

(ribbon sentiment taggy thing inspired by Nichole Heady)

Paper- PP is Men of Life from PTI, PTI Carstock in Pure Poppy, Spring Rain and Ripe Avocado
Martha Stewart Anchor Punch (which actually cut through my PTI cardstock like buttah....go figure)
Ink is clourbox ink Olive, Ribbon is PTI pure poppy saddle stitch, brads are can't even remember.....

Some More Mothers Day Cards

Hello, here are a bunch of mothers day cards I made. I had my husband take my box of cards to his work on Friday (the woman who got me into card making sells her cards at my work, I would never feel right selling my cards there) and I sold 5 Cards !! A very eventful week for me, first blog, first sales.....and a happy mothers day that included a PTI gift certificate !!!!

Enjoy

I used PTI Berry Sorbet, White Stampers Select and Lemon Tart Cardstock. The stamps are from PTI Pond life and wishing you, Stamped with Cognac Pallette ink, Melon Berry and Ocean Tides perfect match ink. I used the sweet blush buttons as flowers, even managed to find a couple of more orangy pink ones in the mix!As a finishing touch I stamped the dragonflies in versamark dazzle, and used some glaze on the pond.

For this card I used white and aqua mist cardstock, and the stamp are from PTI beautiful blooms and pond life for the sentiment. The aqua velvet ric rac is from frantic stamper, the white flower is Maya Road and the snap is paper source. Some white grosgain from michaels- hate how grosgain always looks so technicolour inpictures !!! I stamped the flower with some aqua hero arts ink and polkadot basics from PTI. I tried to get a good picture of it...even if its upside down !!

LOVE THIS CARD !! I coloured in PTI's black and white basics patterned paper with some copics. It actually took forever, not sure if I'll venture into this again for a while !!!! Embossed some Raspberry Fizz PTI cardstock for the top in my cuttlebug, and used some true black and raspberry fizz ribbon from PTI. Circles are stamped on PTI sweet blush with cat's eye rasberry ink, and PTI stamps Fresh Alphabet and simply stationary. Then cut them out with my EK success 1 inch punch (I couldn't cut out a circle to save my life !!)

Last but not least, a sweet pink card. Patterned paper is Martha Stewart (3.99 at Michaels for a whole pack of embossed papers that will look great with PTI's quilters sampler, you'll definitely be seeing more of those papers on here) Coloured with copics, sentiment and imager is from PTI's quilters sampler stamp set, and recollections brad.

Hope everyone enjoyed their mothers day. Today my little munchin was more hyper than I have ever seen him........but I still wouldn't want to be any one else's mama but his !!
